If Your Display or Sound Looks Wrong (Black Screen, Too Dark, No Sound, Flickering, Missing Dials)Updated a month ago

If something looks off with your display or your clock sounds, here’s how to quickly identify and fix it.

1. The screen is completely black

Your clock is likely in Night Mode.

To view the screen again:

  1. Press the 🌙 Night Mode button on your remote
→ This temporarily wakes the display

  2. Go to ☰ Menu → Settings → Display → Night Mode

  3. Choose:

  • OFF to disable Night Mode completely

  • Schedule to adjust the times to your preference

Once adjusted, the display returns to normal.

2. The screen looks unusually dark

Night Mode or low brightness may be active.

Try:

  • ☰ → Settings → Display → Brightness
     Adjust using ◀ ▶

  • Check Display → Night Mode to ensure it’s not currently active

3. You can’t hear ticks, chimes, or hourly strikes

This is usually caused by Silent Times or low sound levels.

Silent Times may be ON

Silent Times mute all clock sounds during specific hours.

To change or disable:

  • Go to ☰ → Settings → Sound → Silent Times

  • If Silent Times is ON, toggle it OFF

  • Or adjust the Start / End times if you want sound to resume sooner

Also check sound levels:

  • Audio, Ticks, Chimes, Hourly Strikes
Make sure the volume is not set to 0.

4. Clock dials (hour markers) are missing

If the dots around the screen edge are not visible:

  • Go to ☰ → Settings → Display → Show Dials

  • Set to ON

5. Animations look flickering or incorrect

If Klydos appear distorted, glitchy, or with visual artifacts:

  • Record a short video

Email the video, plus your Serial Number and Device ID, to:
